We are currently considering candidates for the following position:

  • Pastry Sous Chef/Chef de Partie

The successful candidate will work closely with the Banquet Chef in overseeing the Pastry Team and overall efficiency of the Pastry Kitchen. Responsibilities will include: maintain high level of production, employee motivation and development, planning and supervising daily activities of kitchen employees (including scheduling support), pastry menu and product research and development, cost controls, inventory management, ensuring appropriate health & safety standards and Food Safe practices, monitoring department's tools & equipment, creating and maintaining a positive environment for all team members that promotes exceptional product & services levels, achievement of financial goals and internal career growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, results-oriented, motivated individual with proven "hands-on" leadership skills and the ability to integrate well into a strong team environment, as well as a minimum 3 years progressive, high-volume culinary/hospitality experience, preferably in a hotel or an upscale restaurant environment. Also required are a strong knowledge of the subtleties of exceptional F&B service, flexibility in schedule, outstanding communication & organizational skills, fine attention to detail, and an emphasis on achieving objectives within deadlines, focusing on quality and fiscal results. Post-secondary education in a recognized hospitality management program is preferred. FOODSAFE is required.
